Common questions
How do I bring my PinPal games over?
In PinPal, make a backup and save it to Files. In Bowling Buddy, go to Settings, then Import from PinPal, and pick that file. You'll see what was found before anything is added. Importing twice never makes duplicates.
Does it work with no signal?
Yes. Everything is saved on your device as you bowl, so scoring, history and stats all work in airplane mode. Only buying or restoring Pro needs a connection.
Will I lose my games on a new phone?
No. Your games are part of your normal iPhone backup, so iCloud Backup, a computer backup or Quick Start moves them to a new phone. With Pro, iCloud sync also keeps your iPhone and iPad in step.
I bought Pro. Where did it go?
Go to Settings and tap Restore purchases while connected. Pro is one purchase with no subscription, and it's shared with your family through Family Sharing. Once restored, it keeps working offline.
How is handicap worked out?
Handicap per game is (basis − average) × percentage, rounded down, and never below zero. Averages are cut to whole pins, not rounded. Each game keeps the handicap it started with, so changing an average later doesn't rewrite old games.
What is 9-pin no-tap?
In a no-tap league, knocking down 9 pins on a full rack counts as a strike. Turn it on in the league's settings.
